NSE ASI appreciates by 0.53% as Investors gain N57.92bn
The Nigerian equities market closed today on a positive note as All share index (ASI) appreciated by 0.53% to close at 29,347.62 points.
The appreciation of exchange benchmark index was largely driven by the banking sector.
The banking sector gained with +1.19%, while the industrial goods gained +0.82% indices, following a price appreciation at NEM (+10.0%), the insurance index (+1.92%) led the gainers table on the sectoral performance.
Market breadth closed positive as NIGERINS led 15 gainers and 7 losers led by NEM and IKEJAHOTEL (-9.76%) shares, respectively.
Thus, the Month-to-Date and the Year-to-Date losses moderated to -5.46% and -6.63% respectively.
The total traded volume decreased by 53.5% to 224.03 million units, valued at N2.01bn and exchanged in 3,127 deals.
