Buhari receives committee’s report on minimum wage implementation
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday at the presidential villa, Abuja, received the outcome of the Technical Advisory Committee on the implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage.
The Technical Advisory Committee which is chaired by financial and economic analyst, Bismarck Rewane was inaugurated by Buhari on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
Buhari iterated his intention to review the national minimum wage on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, while presenting the 2019 appropriation bill at a joint session of the National Assembly.
“modalities for the implementation of the new minimum wage in such a manner as to minimise its inflationary impact as well as ensure that its introduction does not lead to job losses,” Buhari said.
